2000 40 HP Merc runs well till float bowl runs dry. Fuel filter/bulb stays full and will refill if emptied. Have checked crancase hose to fuel pump. Good pulse. Removed check ball from fuel pick up. New primer bulb goes hard with a few pumps. Have fuel exiting fuel pump if I disconect exit hose and attach clear vinyl to outside of cowl. Have followed fuel path to carb and seem to have pressure all the way. Still, engine stalls whether run at high or low rpm's. Could float be sticking shut or.......? Motor has only been run less than 15 hours. Thanx in advance for any input.
