I have a 1990 40 hp murcury mariner I'm replacing the old original stator with a red upgraded version I have taken off of a 1992 40 hp mercury parts motor I know how to wire it my question is do I simply put the stator on in the bolt holes it came off of the parts motor or line up where the old wires were on the old stator with the wires on the new stator I've read there is arrows on the stator but my red one has two arrows both of them have numbers surrounding them one has 1 through 30 and the arrow is pointing at 28 I believe and the other arrow is directly across from it on the other side of the stator and it has numbers also 1 through 12 and it is pointing at 3 does this make sense to anyone I don't want to bolt this stator on timed wrong if that is even possible.
