the hood is complete but has some fiberglass issues.

I ground out the inside

and laid in three layers of fiberglass chopped strand

next I will fill in from the outside with bondo.

Cool. Decent looking motor. Sea King was a bit ahead of the Johny/Rude models, in their single walled 40hp, huh? Like ten years LOL That starter looks like brand new. Outside of the cover, it looks like that motor has been treated pretty good.

I see the side cowl from your 5hp Sea King, there next the the air nozzle.

You and I think alike...hard to beat that Rustoleum...don't forget the clear coat and a hand wax when you finish with the color coats. It's gonna look sweet when you're done.

the Rustoleum high heat works very well and it gas and oil resistant. Even better is the caliper paint, but it takes about a week to cure. Clear coat is essential I think.

I actually started over with tractor paint with a hardener

finished up the controls and starter box today.
