Hello, I replaced impeller, pulled foot in neutral, re-installed. Now Revers is way down on shifter, is tough and kills motor. Also dies in Forward unless paused after shift then slowly accelerated. I assume I jacked my linkage/timing up by pulling foot in neutral rather than Forward?? How do I fix this?? Repull the foot in F, or mess with the cable linkage? Sorry, I am a girl, in over my head. Motor is a 2003 merc 40 hrs 4 stroke EFI big foot. Many thanks

Or is my problem something else? Motor ran and shifted fine before I messed with it (Other than no pee from pee hole) and obviously this is an out board. Thanks
