my brother in law and my sister are in the bay right now. He pulled the cord all the way out of the motor. he has a full compliment of tools and is in shallow water so he could swim to parts if dropped. what steps should he take to put it back together to get home? all he told me was the cord come all the way out. the motor is from 77 or 78 and is 40hp with remote and pull start, remote starter has also failed, but it never really could get the cold motor running.
