How does the cutoff switch work on a 1967 40hp Johnson RDSL-29E ? How can I check and see if it is good ? I am Multimeter savvy.
Currently I have to jump one of the small lugs on the solenoid to the (non-Starter) big cable in order for the ignition switch to work. Does this indicate a bad solenoid ?
Does it matter which of the two "M" wires goes to which side of the ignition switch ?
And last occasionally when attempting to start the starter will "runaway" (continue to engage while switch is released) any thoughts ?
Thanks in advance.
