40hp Mariner wiring diagram

sorry if there already has been a thread made up about this but im needing a wiring diagam for a 40hp mariner im not sure of the year but i have a serial number to go by 6E9-L-420411 the guy who had the boat before me cut the wires and they were just laying in the console of the boat i need to re wire it and put a new ignition switch in any help would be great thanks.

I picked up a pdf version of the manual for my Mercury outboard. It set me back $4.99, but if you act fast you can get it before Uncle Sam starts taxing online transactions. It came in really handy wiring in my new ignition switch.
