Due to the fact of the cost and availability I am contemplating changing over my late 70's early 80's 40hp mariner/yamaha from points style ignition to the stator type ignition. I have located a stator plate with all the necessary electonics on it for a VERY reasonable price. My question is do i have to change the flywheel or anything else to do the swap or is it even possible. I know I would have to also get the primary coils as well.
