I have a 40hp mercury tracker 2stroke 4cylinder. I checked the key switch and kill switch. I am getting power to the engine. It cranks fine but i am not getting any spark. Today i pulled the flywheel off of the engine. The stator has no cracks or visible damage. There are 6 wires coming off of it. One to each coil and 2 yellow ones go else where. Is there any way to check this to see if it is bad? If the stator is not bad what is the next thing i should check?

0G184736. The last time we had it out it started fine. Tried to start it a few months ago to winterize and it wouldnt start. Changed plugs and still nothing. Checked the plug wires and there is no spark.

I would start with the coils and see if you have fire coming to the plugs...if no fire to plugs, I would check the fuse, and then the switch box...
