i just posted about my pullstart and thought while i was here i would ask another question. I have read other posted and started with taking the carb off and cleaning it, also i used tune up in a can, and spray carb cleaner with the motor runing. It is from the late 70's and has both remote and pull start. it is hard to start and i turned the ideal all the way up. (remote start only works if the motor is hot) if i let it get hot 1st about half the time i slam it into wot it stalls the other half of the time it barly tries to run and takes about 5 minutes, (really, it's like a mile, not kidding) top get the boat up onto plain, this is a small 15 boat. it seems to take another 3 or 4 minutes once on plain to get to full speed. when i turn sharply it falls to what seems like 1500 rpms and the whole 8 minute proses starts over. when i come to a no wake zoke it usually stalls at low speed. I have the jet that is at 12noon from the opening of the carb anywhere from 1.5 turns to 2.5 turns and nothing seems to change. any idea's? plugs are new and gas is hours old. oil tank is full and vent on gas tank is open, i replaced the hose, bulb and conectors yesterday. i am running 2oz of mystery oil and .5 oz of marine stybil in every 5 gals of regual grade gas.
thanks
joe
