I have a 2013 Tracker Pro 165 with a 40 hp Mercury 4 stroke. It won't start or even make a noise, and I can't raise or lower the motor using the trim switch on the motor. Trolling motor that runs off the 2nd battery is fine.I replaced the ignition switch and that didn't help. The battery checks good. When I short across the solenoid the engine does turn over. The kill switch is a simple toggle with down position labeled "off" and up position labeled "run." I've had the boat and it's never had a lanyard.

I agree with the man above Silvertip.check the fuses. there is a fuse for the T&T;tilt and trim.
We got desperate like you, and cut the three wires to the kill switch to eliminate the kill switch it didnt work and ended up putting it back together with butt splice connectors then shrink tube one inch longer over the butt joint try it.
Wait a minute,do you have a battery switch for the 40hp four stroke ,trolling motor works of the second battery is fine,do you have power to the 40hp?
