when installing a transducer on the transom with bottom paint, will the 4200 work on the bottom paint or do I need to remove the bottom paint where the transducer is to let the 4200 work.

The reason I ask is because I noticed the 4200 pulled off the bottom paint. So I need to reseal the transducer so...remove the bottom paint then reseal?

Or should it have worked with bottom paint....?

Thanks

from what I understand, nothing sticks very well to bottom paint. I would replace transducer and then paint around it.

Re: 4200 and bottom paint

I guess nothing is SUPPOSED to stick to bottom paint...thats what its for. Didn't think of it that way. brain fart. Anyhow...yea...guess i'll sand that area down to the gel, adhere transducer with the supplied screws and 4200, then paint around it.

....I don't know what I was thinking......
