I have a 23' cc boat and a 23p prop. I also have a Yamaha 200 hp V-Pro. I have only had the boat a few months and today was the first time I was able to open it up. The fastest I was able to go was 45 mph with the jack plate raised up a bit and the motor trimmed up a little. I just feel like I should be going faster, an I wrong?

what RPM were you turning?
to me a speedo is worthless.
my 21 seapro when it had the 200 HPDI would run 45 at 5300.
however it does have a T top and a second station so there is a lot of wind drag.
with the F150 its about 41 at 5700 RPM.

Rodbolt, I was turning between 4500 and 4800 RPM's and surprisingly my speedometer was reading right on with my gps. Should I be turning more Rpm's?

you may be on the verge of ver propped, id like to see it turn closer to about 5300.
use test wheel YB1626 to verify the engine can turn it between 5350 and 5500. if it can chase hull and props.
