Following a gasket failure, overheat and damaged bottom piston on my '67 55hp 5561 motor (the head, cylinder block and crank are undamaged), I am now looking for an economical piston repair, if possible. I was gifted some 45hp pistons (when I owned a 45) part SA435015, 010 oversize and associated rings S310260 (at least that's what are written on the boxes...) Having measured these up the pistons are 3 3/16x2.8 which is the same dims as the 50&55hp Chrysler - can someone knowledgeable verify that I'd be able to used these please? My '67 has 3 piston rings - did the factory change this to a 2 ring version later in the model cycle, as these are also 2 ring pistons?
