454 Big Block RPM / MPH Question

hello all, ITS a wellcraft 23ft with a 454 bb engine that was rebuilt in spring.it ran good for 15 hours of use,until the oil line broke . no oil in the engine, had to drive back @ 2000 RPM for 15 min . i changed the filter and used 20w/50 oil the roller lifters were readjusted because they were clattering the engine has 0 tapping or clattering. MY QUESTION IS, DOES THE RPM MATCH THE MPH ? eg LETS SAY I'M GOING 3000 RPM THE GPS SAYS 30 MPH /2000RPM---20MPH IIS THIS NORMAL? thanks

The revs generally don't match up that closely. If you give me the following info I'll run it through my 'prop calc' program. <br /><br />Revs at WOT.<br />Speed at WOT.<br />Gear ratio in leg (outdrive)<br />Propellor pitch and if porp is cupped.<br /><br />Chris........
