454 Magnum ID tag

Can anyone tell me or point me to a place to check what engine this is by the ID tag on the carb?
The tag says,

454 MAG B
7.4L SRX-H
1347-9863

The engine is NOT the same that the boat was born with. Per the casting numbers on the block its a

10237297...454..96-up...4-bolt, Vortec 7400", "L-29" Gen.VI, 1 piece rear seal

(bonus for me). I can NOT read (or find) any serial numbers on the block so without taking it apart I dont know what heads it has on it. Also seems these engines (except 96) had EFI of some sort and mine is carbed. I guess the intake could be from the old engine and maybe the carb is too. Any helpful info would be appreciated.

no, there were both carbs and EFI for 1996-2000 7.4's

you wont know what heads you have until you pull your valve covers and look at the head casting number.

The 454 Mag had rectangular port heads
