I just took my manual and did a ohm reading of my stator and all was within limits except on the Red to Red/White reading. The limits are from 56 to 76 ohms. Mine read 157.0 ohms. I know my way around a multimeter but would sure like one of you marine experts to tell me what I got is a bad stator like I think I have??? Guys I got this boat for almost nothing and I am beging to think there are no great deals out there. It will always be something. :):)

The red/red/white should be-125 to 175 ohms and the blue blue/white should be 5000 to 7000 ohms so he reading you have is OK, what does the blue blue/white test

Re: 45hp merc stator ohm readings (HELP)

The blue to blue/white reads 6.74K wich I guess is the correct reading? As for the red to red/white the manual says R 1ohms 56-74 or somthing like that, was not taking that out to 100. I guess I need a refresher course on my mulitimeter. :) So since the stator and rectifier check good for resistance what would you recomend me checking next? I still do not have a DVA adaptor, I just have no spark and really am stumped, If I have to buy a DVA adaptor can you recomend one that will fit my Fluke and where I may find one? I know it is a lot to ask but this is my first Power Boat and I would love to get it running. Any help would be Great!

Well men. I finally got her running. This was a case of mechanic looking to deep to find the problem. Turned out to be a broken brown wire by the controls. I guess I should have started more simply. OH well, Now I have to get all the axulliary stuff working. It seems that none of that stuff is operational. Live to fight another day!!
