Might anyone here know of a source for lower gear case seals for a PO-15?

Another Q, IF I can get mine running, can it run briefly, safely in a test tank being that it has no waterpump or would I risk overheating it? I'd think that I could at least run it for a little while, minute or two?

Howdy, Joaklay.

You might try Twin City Outboard, but a more likely source would be the Antique Outboard Motor Club, Inc. www.aomci.com.

Good luck. :)

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm a member of the AOMCI and have asked there too but I got no responses. I usually have far better luck getting answers to my old outboard Qs here.

Hi Joakley,
If you can remove the old seals, any bearing shop should be able to match them up for you by dimension. I use Kaman Bearing locally and they've never failed me, so far, and I've brought them some pretty obscure stuff... If the seals are butchered beyond reference, bring the housing and shaft...
- Scott

I usually like to have the new seals before taking anything apart but in this case, if I can't find any via links above, I'll try the match-up method.
Thanks
