470 head gasket

well after hoping it was just the riser i found that iam getting a/f in the oil
Is a head gasket from serria or mallory good or should i buy the mercruiser one. Also is it made by mercruiser or vict. thanks in advance for all the help jeff.

I have not had to replace my head gasket on my 470 yet but in reading this forum almost all say Mercruiser Only.

NO! Replace it with an OEM Mercruiser head gasket, they are specifically designed for the 470 to seal the iron head to the Al block. Aftermarket is fine for all of the other gaskets.
