Here we go again.

Ref the 48 Special, one of the weak points seems to be the gas assisted tilt mechanisms. Where exactly is the best place to lube it? The stainless struts themselves? Also since the motor weighs 182 lbs dry....should it have a transom support.... It seems to ride fairly stable..

I have ordered a Tiny Tach with reset button for the above engine. Length of coax ordered is 16 feet.

Technician advised me from Tiny Tach that the cable is not to be trimmed.

My question is with spurious signals from the electronics of the engine such as the power pack ect... should I have reason to worry about this length affecting the strength of the signal even wrapping 5 times rather than 3 on the plug wires?

The technician seemed to be somewhat leery of this length although he took the order.

Maybe I can route the cable around in the cowling area to avoid heat and minimize the exposure of the coax to the power pack somehow to minimize it. Anybody out there have any experience with this digital tach and longer runs of coax?
