4hp Extension Gasket

I'm working on a 1973 4hp Evinrude Yachtwin model 4336 and having a hard time identifying/finding a gasket.

This motor has the 5" extension piece between the exhaust housing and the gearcase. The parts diagram on all the suppliers I've checked shows part #30 (315338) as a gasket between the extension piece and the exhaust housing.

That same part # also shows up as the gasket at the TOP of the exhaust housing (#38). These are clearly different shapes, and when I optimistically ordered one the part that shipped is for the top of the housing. It is not even close to fitting between the exhaust housing and the extension.

I've attached some screenshots showing the discrepancy. It seems to me that an error in the Evinrude database may be incorrectly linking part 315338 to that extension gasket. My questions:

1. Any suggestions to help track down the correct gasket?
2. Is this gasket necessary? Does that extension need to be air/water tight?
3. If I can't find one, would it be feasible for me to make my own? Any advice there?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much.

Picture #2 is of parts ( extension housing )) that does not belong to a 4 HP 1973 model.

As racerone says no gasket.
That gasket #30 is shown as #38 in diagram exhaust housing as you pointed out.
It is for the exhaust housing mounting to the lower pan.

Thanks to you both. It seems I can check it off my list of things to worry about and move on.
