There should be a metal tag on the port side of the transom mount. The serial number is of no consequence really. It is the model number that you will find most useful. Best of luck. Rick.

It is really hard to tell as they all look about the same. My buddy has a 73 and his paint color look lighter green than yours but that doesn't help you much. Take a close look at the power head and you might find a silver disc about the size of a quarter (looks like a frost plug) with the model number on it. It will say 4r???. Rick.
