depends, Some filters have an anti-drainback, have to check into it more.
Merc does not make that filter, is under contract, another filter maker makes it and I'm sure it is also marketed under their own brand. A little research and you'll find it or a comparable product.
Sierra markets filters, who makes them, not Sierra.
