I have a mid 80's 5.0 HP Gamefisher that is kind of doing the opposite that the 7.5 is doing. I have trouble starting it and getting it to idle without dying, but runs good at high speed. If I open up the throttle a little bit while starting it will go. It ran good before I stored it last season (I did run it dry with proper fuel/stabil mix before storing). I decided to clean carb real good inside and out before I started it this year and then it started doing this (shoulda left it alone). I also replaced the little rubber fuel pump last year. It seems to be running rich, but adjusting the mix screw doesn't seem to have much effect? One other thing that's different from last year is I did adjust float level a little with #4 bit.
It seems like there should be a little screw in the top of the carb to adjust throttle out a little, but it isn't there. Anybody know if its supposed to be?-Any ideas would be appreciated.
