New member here and hoping someone can give me some direction. So I have a 92' Criscraft bowrider 18' with a 5.0 OMC I/O. It's worked great all summer then yesterday dropped it in at the lake and it cranks like a champ but I couldn't get it to turn over.

So after digging into alittle the previous owner installed a electric fuel pump and abandoned the mechanical one. When I turn the key there is no noise from the electronic fuel pump. It should prime the carb for a couple seconds right? Pulled the gas inlet to the carb and it's bone dry so I know there is no fuel getting to the carb. Is this a simple fuel pump replace??? Lol it's never that easy. Can I test the fuel pump to see if it still works. Also read it could be oil pressure sensor, I see it's nippled off of the block by the pump. Well any help is much appreciated 🙂😊

First, welcome aboard

second, a proper electric fuel pump is 2X the cost of a mechanical fuel pump

you should be able to test the pump

Roger that, and thanks for the response. Can I just run a pigtail from the battery + to the positive post on the pump?
