got a sierra rebuild kit 18-7043 for 1960 5.5 fisherman. The kit seems to be a universal kit for different applications so there are gaskets that are not needed for my rebuild such as O- rings. The kit does not include the same thick fiber gasket that slides over the brass fuel nozzle that screws into the center of the carb body. There is one gasket that fits snug over the tube. It is a grey hard rubber material, almost twice as thick as original. But it so rigid it wont compress so I cant close the carb halves together. Anyone have similiar problems with these rebuild kits?
