My 97 Bayliner sporting a 5.7 V8 with Alpha One drive is leaking all the power steering under the V8 block. The PS drive is behind the engine also the cooler is there also. I do have a feeling that it is leaking from the rack and pinion unit not the hoses. Any info on rebuilding and or rebuild kits, and other help appreciated.

In most cases the issue is the hoses on the PS cooler. It is next to the block on the port side and uses a hose clamp on the return line coming from the PS link on the drive. In many (but not all) cases you can remove the hoses, cut some of the hose off and reinstall. The hoses gets brittle

All my hoses go to the back behind the block not on the side. Both the cooler and the rack are there it's a 5.7 v8 from 97
I will have to refill and have someone turn the wheel while I look. Hope I was wrong on the leak placement.

hose leak is common, hoses should be replaced before they hit 20 years of age

Unless you have a squirting high pressure leak that a blind man will see check the low pressure hoses. Loose clamp, damaged hose, too large of a clamp not sealing

Found it, it was all the way behind the motor on a cooler hose. All good now
