About 5k lbs loaded. Have a Solas 21 pitch 3 blade. Tops out at 4800 rpm which is correct. To stay on plane I have to be above 30mph. And when there it easily falls off. Holeshot is also slow IMO. This all tells me to switch to a 4 blade 21p. Can someone explain if my thinking is correct

hello , what i have been told is if you go to a four blade you should drop one inch in pitch , if you dont you are going to lose some rpm ..

No trim tabs. I'm at max rpm right now so losing 150rpm by moving to 4 blade is still well within range.

Couldnt agree more...No prop will give you the lift tabs do or hole shot that is.....Want to kill two birds with one stone..

Theres a 4 blade 20 that is known pusher and a good one. The boat will feel much different with that combo...It might cost 1-3 mph on the top end...and then again it might not. Why a 20 keeps your overall gearing or wot in the optimal power band along with the fact you have a efi engine

Re: 5.7 bravo 1. Maxum 24' cuddy. 4 blade?

old thread but i have a new question. Since my wot rpms are at my max range of 47-4800. Switching from 3 to 4 blade but keeping the same pitch of 21 should keep me within my range right? without lugging the motor i hope....

the more research i do, im now worried that dropping to a 4blade 19pitch will push my wot rpms over 4800. Someone please tell me im not crazy here.

reason i ask is id like to buy another solas but it only comes in odd pitch sizes
