5.7 GLa Carburetor: Ghost fuel filter ?

For maintenance sake I bought filter for my model as recommended. Then I went explore carburetor but I could not find a filter similar to the one I had in my hand anywhere. Actually nothing looking like a filter. Only a mesh cap (filter I have would not fit inside).

Where should I look ?

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,.... What carb are We talkin' 'bout,...

That filter may not apply to yer particular carb,...

Generally speakin',... Boat fuel systems use a canister type water separatin' filter,...

I have the same carb. If you disconnect the metal fuel line that goes into the bowl,
you will find a mesh screen that looks like a thumb thimble.
That may be what you have.

Thank you all for confirming what I thought and for welcoming me.
Unfortunately in the exploded view of my 5.7GL-A Volvo listed a filter for carburetor which is also listed in my maintenance chart so I bought 3. Luckily they are on the cheap side so no biggy.
