So yesterday I was out boat ran normal throwout the day. on the way in the seas were less than fun so i was traveling about 19-2000 rpm... as i increased the throttle the motor seemed to pop/backfire and die. it started and i was able to advance to 19-2000 rpm again. as i attempted to increase the throttle again it hoped/backfired and died. it would lot start after this.. upon cranking the injectors would not spray any fuel.
touching both injectors with a 9volt they both click.
I cleaned the grounds on the block.
I removed the hp fuel pump and it seems clear of any debris.
I have attempted to check the fuel pressure my gauge reads 10 psi, im not sure if this is correct. the only way i was able to hook up my fuel pressure gauge was to take out the schroeder valve on the hard hp line and place a piece if fuel line over the schreader valve then slide an adapter to my gauge.
What are some things i can check as to why they will not spray fuel?

thanks

Need to get a gauge with the schrader fitting or just the adapter fitting

The 10 psi is to low for the high side, it should be 27 to 31 psi

Low side should be 4 to 12 psi

Also dump the gas filter into a clear container to see if there is anything but clean gas

Will do. Does the pressure control the injectors? I’m trying to understand what controls them.. are they mefi controled? Pick up coil?

The Engine Control Unit (ECM), and yours is a MEFI, which turns the injectors on/off by applying a ground to one side.

When ignition is turned ON, power is supplied to one side of the injectors. When the ECM sees pulses from the distributor, this tells it there is spark, and then the ECM applies a ground turning the injectors ON. The ECM turns the injectors ON and back OFF several times a second based on the rpm and load

So my problem Possibly lies in the ignition module Not sending the proper signal or and issue from the mefi sending ground to the injectors...

how can I test the ignition module?

would a make shift noid light tell me that the mefi is getting the correct signal from the ignition module?

A paper clip to each prong on the injector alligator clipped to a test light is what I had in mind

Your jumping ahead.
With only 10 psi it will not start even if it wanted to. Need to get the fuel pressure properly measured and get it up to spec

Scanning the motor for codes should be first. If not that, check for power at the coil with ignition ON

When cranking see if the tach shows at least 300 rpm

I have that exact guage and fitting along with another kit... none of my fittings are small enough for the schreader on my hp fuel line though

Interesting turn of events. So I crank the motor to check if I have 300rpm and she lights right up!

fuel pressure at idle was 27psi. No need for the noid light.

my guess is something in the ignition may have gotten wet. If was a rough day on the h20....
