I testes my fuel pressure today and thus is what i came up with. Key on position 48 psi. Boat running at idle it pegs and bounce off 100 psi. Is that normal?

So what does that mean? What would cause the fuel pressure to jump way up with egine running?

Clogged fuel pressure regulator might cause this.

The boat seems to run fine once i get on plane. so could the regulator still be plugged? I am having problems getting on plane. i had 4 adults on my boat which is a 04 265 monterey, and we could not get on plane. i even had them go down in the cabin, and still could not get on plane. the rms go up to 2400 rpms and would not go up from there. It took about 2 minutes of shifting people around finially get the rpms up to 3000 where they need to be to get on plane. this volvo should have plenty enough power for this boat. I have replace the fuel filter, and plugs, not sure what else to check.

I would have to tend to lean towards boatguya1 theory. Don mite have some further input along with the other more experienced guys but I dont see what else could cause that kind of burst of pressure.

Problem fixed!! screen on fuel pressure regulator was clogged. I found a service bulliten showing this problem, and looks like they are removing the screen and replacing it with a e-clip. now my fuel pressure stay steady at 46 psi, with the key on, and with the boat running. is the 46psi in specs for the motor? seem to run much better and easier to plane out! thats for the help guys!!
