winterizing my 1992 5.7L mercruiser that I bought this year. Warmed engine with water running in for 15 min then ran 5 gal anitfreeze through the muffs and out the exhaust. Just to be sure it was in the engine I pulled one of the engine block drains and straight water came out. I suspected a bad thermostat so I opened the housing and now can't get the thermostat out. There seems to be a 1" long brass type sleve inside the housing holding it down. Any tips on how to remove this when its stuck? Any tips on removing stuck hoses without destroying them?
