Unfortunately missed one lower drain **** last fall, only to find a crack in the lower left block of my 5.7. My question is has anyone had any success with repairing a cracked block or is it a write-off? I have a 1984 196 Wellcraft Sunhatch, with only 623 hours on it. Thxs.

You can epoxy external cracks, but if there are any internal cracks it's done. Marine Tex is the best epoxy for the task. If the block were full of water, it'd be a goner. But since it was at least half empty, there might be hope.

Ayuh,........

I'd Fire it Up on the Hose,+ Run it for a 1/2 hour or so,........

If the Oil is still Oil,..... without added Water,.......

Then I'd worry about slathering some Epoxy over the Outside Crack........;)
