5.7 mercruise battery draw

i have a 1992 5.7 mercruiser and it has had the alternator replaced with a delco alternator with a spark arrestor kit installed in it.There is a .34amp draw comming from it (battery will go dead after a few days of sitting)when you unhook the excite and sense leads load is gone the diode in alternator tested good any ideas would be appreciated thanks

something inside the alt is not right, is this a car alt with the screens installed ? sense ans excite reversed?

its an automotive alternator with screens the diode in it is ok and i tried swapping the sense and excite sense and excite wires

A load on the sense/excite tells you something is up with that alt. maybe the regulator is wrong or the diode trio is bad
THe GM line was usually only single wire. The 2 push on terminals are capped and sealed. Only see one marine gm type listed with 3 wires but its specific to a marine unit

the excite wire should go dead with the key off (since the power to the excite should go thru the key)

I put another alternator on it still have the draw. My excite wire (purple)has key on power only and sense (red/purple) has constant power

A true marine built one or an automotive one with screens?If automotive , could be trying to backfeed an idiot light circuit thru the regulator
Battery ,"sense" is #2 connector, facing the rear of the alt its to the far right . The idiot light "excite" is pin #1 far left
Sense and excite reversed? wrong regulator in the alt?
