I have a 1997 sea ray 190 bow rider with 5.7 mercruiser 350 2barrel carb thunderbolt 5 mech fuel pump.

Boat has ran beautiful until this issue. After about 10 minutes underway engine randomly stalled as if ignition was turned off, there was no bogging or hesitation. Boat starts right back up and runs like normal for a few minutes then randomly stalls again no matter the rpm or load. The time between stalls gets progressively shorter after every time. I thought maybe something got wet from people on as off the boat so I left it overnight and tried again today but I was experiencing the same thing after about 10 minutes of running it stalls. This season I replaced the coil and distributor sensor and preventative maintenance. Any input would be greatly appreciated supposed to be taking it on vacation to a lake on Friday! It is used on Long Island In salt water. Thanks!

When the distributor sensor was replaced was the ground wire lead get a clean connection?
Remove the 10 pin connector and check contact pins, clean as needed.
Remove connector off TBV module and check connections

Make up a jumper to connect between the Red/Purple wire on the ignition switch and another purple wire on any gauge. What your doing is by passing the ignition switch and the kill switch. Make the connection at the key switch Red/Purple contact so your not bypassing the 20 amp fuse. Start the motor run it and see if it still dies

Problem solved. Thought it was electrical. It wound up being a clogged screen in the fuel pick up. Thanks for the help

Thanks for coming back and letting us know, but what was going on and a clogged screen don't add up. When a carb starts to run out of gas it will cough, sputter, maybe even backfire before it dies. You said

In any case glad your running and hope its stays that way
