1997 5.7 efi starts fine runs a little ruff but stalls when put in drive or reverse, the throttle was stuck now it moves foward and backwards but cuts the engine out in either direction
just read don s post...shouldnt shift on muffs..well the starboard shifts to foward and reverse with muffs and NO prop...port still stalls... so much for that theory
thanx for that info..does anyone have a pic or can tell me where its located..and also is this a simple part change or is it more complicated then that
usually on the stbd riser where the cables are. If the switch it activating ,it means the cable is bad. I think you mis-read the post. If it operates the switch on muffs while shifting, the lower cable is bad.
ok more info..just put both throttles in foward then tried to turn prop shafts.. starboard locks up port does not..put both in reverse starboard locks up and so does the port.. does this info help in any way?
