Ok I am still having problems with my 5.7GL.

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=202718

I have put a new distributor, coil, wires and plugs in and still have the same problem. I am now going to put a new fuel pump on but I can't find one. I don't have a Volvo dealer in town but I do have Mercruiser dealer. Is there a Mercruiser pump that will fit and if so what do I ask them for. This is a mechanical pump and I assume I can't use a automotive pump. Correct. Also what about a electric pump?

Re: 5.7GL Fuel Pump Question

A Mercruiser pump will physically fit the engine but fuel line clock positions my be the problem. You would have to physically match them up. An electric pump could be done, but done properly would be costly and very involved with plumbing, mounting and correct wiring circuit. NO automotive pumps, electric or mechanical.

Re: 5.7GL Fuel Pump Question

Have you tested your old pump? Have you tested the boats fuel system? Why are you changing the fuel pump???? Sounds like you are just throwing parts at the problem and hoping to hit on the solution, and that gets expensive very quickly.
List all the tests you have done and the outcome of those tests. Then we can probably help you a little better.
