I have 2000 Volvo 5.7 gsi.
when I slow down from mid to high speed/rpms my engine doesn’t idle all the way back down. I shut the engine off and turn it back on it immediately returns to idle as it should
Last season I replaced my fuel pump. A couple times last year
it would do this randomly but now it’s every time my engine is run above mid throttle.

check your throttle cable. it probably isnt returning to idle at the engine and the shut-down and re-start shake it enough.

use a bit of lube if the cable is hanging up.

quit throwing parts at the motor and properly identify what is wrong. replacing a fuel pump more than once usually indicates its not the pump.

Might be a dirty IAC valve and its sticking, but what is your motor serial number?
