5.7L Mercruiser Power Steering sticking?

New to boating, 1995 MAXUM 2400SCR --- Any one have any ideas why my power steering or steering or steering assist would start to bind up? fluid level is fine, belt is fine, but I have no idea where to look next?

Probably where the steering cable (d) goes through the power steering control unit tube (c) on the transom.

Perhaps check to see if you have a grease zert there. I do on my boat.

That zerk only greases the cable, not the cable end and the tube.
