I searched the forums and couldn't find anything on my problem so here goes. I have a 1988 Sea Ray 300 SD with twin 5.7L 4bbl 260 hp engines. The power steering pump fried and I've been looking for a new or rebuilt one. There are 2 brackets that the pump attaches to. The one in back is stamped (as opposed to cast) and also attaches to the alternator. I think I've found the right one from a couple of on line parts places but they want $450 to $500 just for the pump, which seems outrageous to me. Does anyone know if there is an automotive one that will work? Thanks for any help/advice.
