I have a 1994 Four Winns 210 in great condition. The motor is a 5.8l OMC Cobra Ford with low compression on one cylinder. Marina mechanic indicated that it was due to scoring on the cylinder wall. My question is what are my options? Should I look into getting the motor replaced or rebuilt? Is there another motor that can be used in place of this Ford that is still supported or is the boat done for?

You can swap to a Chevy with a number of parts ( Mercruiser swap most economical ) OR, you can get a 5.8L/351W from I think a 1994-1997 Ford F150/250/350 ( 1996 for F150 however ). The only reason the year matters is because of the roller cam and the required distributor gear.. You'll need marine head gaskets and core plugs + your marine accessories

I’d look for another Ford because changing everything over to Chevrolet is certainly more involved.
