5 hp yamaha bs5 return spring install?

Ok i know this is supposed to be pretty easy, but when i bought the boat it was missing the return spring. So now i have the spring and i figured it would be really easy to put on, but i can't find anywhere to attach the spring too. Anyone have this motor, and know how to put the spring on? I'm pretty new to pullstart motors so i really have no clue where it attaches if anyone could send or link me to pics of either how to install or what one looks like installed i'd have some sorta idea. Or if anyone can give me a detailed description. Thanx in advance

did you ever get the spring replaced. I have the same problem and have looked and looked and can't find a solution.
