A gentleman sold me his dads old outboads. A 60's Gale Buccaneer 25hp in really nice shape all complete. A 59 Wizard 7.5 hp in nice shape. A Scott Atwater 1-12 early 50's 3.6hp needs alot of work but is complete. The gas tank is completely rusted on the inside. A Ted Williams 4.5hp in nice shape and a 60s Evinrude 9.5 short shaft. Got all 5 for 300. Trying to figure out which ones are worth restoring? Looks like the Scott is going to be the challenge. Think Im keeping the Gale because its in fine shape and wont need much work at all. Know nothing about the Wizard other that its a McCulloch.

Those 3.6 Scotts are plentiful. Think about that before spending your coins.

Im gonna have to red coat the tank if I want it to run. If Im gonna do it for a man cave piece I wont worry about the tank. BTW Im gonna assume that the Gale also came with an electric starter? This one doesnt have one but can you add one?

25hp Gales were offered both with and without starters. Yes, you can add one. But they aren't hard to start manually.

I have had a couple of the Scott/McCulloch 7.5's . They have a lot of power compared to the OMC 7.5, and run really smooth. You can use Honda impellers to replace the bail-a-matic impellers on those. The 9.5 Evinrude is either a love or hate motor depending on who you ask. They are a good fishing motor when they are running right, but certain things do take a bit more finesse to repair on them.

That seems like a more than fair price to me.

I have a 33hp Ski Twin from that era. Have to pull the rope with both hands to start it, but it starts every time.
