50 horse mercury force...

What is a reasonable price to pay for a 50 hp mercury force(1990)? Or how much do they run?<br />mid west location, no saltwater use.<br />good condition.<br /><br />Thanks,

The Force is an orphan with no factory parts support,other than that allready in the system.<br /> They should be considered an entry level motor<br />with a shakey reputation both for performance and<br /> reliability.<br /> Stick with a more popular brand Merc.Yamaha,<br />Honda,Evinrude,Johnson,Suzuki,<br />The most important is to select the best motor for your needs and be sure you have a well established,well trained dealer handy to your location.<br /> Good luck.

Mercury bought out Force from USMarine. They continued producing motors under the Force by Mercury moniker. Over the years, Mercury made some changes in the ignitions, lower units, and tilt/trim units. Modifications varied by model and year.<br /><br />If it is in decent operational condition, and has been maintained well, then $500 to $900.
