Re: 50 horse. mercury will not start
Rick&Lisa, please be more specific about your motor, type, model, year built, serial number, cylinders etc.
Is it cranking?
Do you have sparks on all the plugs?
Is there gas flowing to the cylinders?
If yes to all, what is the cylinders pressure? Do you see any smoke coming?
Make sure you have the motor on the muff with water running. If for any reason the motor starts, do not run it WOT while on the muff or at too high rpms.
Come back and post your findings, you will find help here.
