redoing the engine, all is well, but don't have the controls for it, so am modifying older control set.. problem is this engine use to have VRO, now does not, the connector to the helm has 7 connections in the plug, the Clymer book I have has diagrams for one type of controls but not for this.... the engine wiring shows two wires coming from the stator assembly, one is the black with yellow, the grey which I assume is the tach line and the line coming from the stator assembly to the connector via blocking diode, (not the regulator) and temp sensor.. To make thinks easy for everyone involved.. does anyone have a remote controls diagram? I will be able to figure things out from there....
assistance appreciated..
tks.
stan

Stan, don't think you really need to do anything to the control box. Just plug it in and go. Any extra wires for the VRO just won't be used. The VRO wiring was all in the engine anyways and used the tan wire for a common alarm wire for all engine alarms.
