Does anyone know of service bulletins for a 2001 50hp 4 stroke (carbed)? My brother in law's is still getting gas in the oil after 3 years, and he runs it plenty hard. No help from dealer. They tell him to blow it up and let the warranty rebuilt it. His warranty is running thin.<br /><br />I saw once before the difference between the 50 and 60 4 stroke is a restrictor plate behind the carbs. Run a search on this forum with key words ''50hp four stroke'' or ''oil in gaz'' as that issue seems to have been discussed before. The solution suggested was to change the thermostat as the engine is running too cold causing gaz to get into the oil. I have one, am not seeing gaz in oil, but I am getting a persistent oil leak that is hard to solve. We are going to look at the bottom seal this spring. Has your brother experienced this? If so, any solution?.

His engine is not leaking oil at all. He is just having to change his oil after every few trips because of fuel dilution. Thanks for the reply.<br /><br />Duck L.
