50 HP, ELPTEFI, Four stroke BIG FOOT. Serial # 0T522919 for a carolina skiff

I have a 2002 16ft v series carolina skiff with a 1996 merc 40hp 4cyl. it runs well but It is thursty. Im thinking about a 2002 50 HP, ELPTEFI, Four stroke BIG FOOT Serial # 0T522919. As an upgrade. Any coments or suggestions?

At WOT, carbureted engines are just as efficient as EFI's, presuming they are clear and free of debris.

it has good compression, i think its timed properly but i will have to verify that. air fuel mix is good and carbs are clean. it runs well, alittle cold natured. I thought it might make a good upgrade and better fuel economy, easier to start and ect. I do not know much about the 50hp. I was told yamaha makes it?
