50 hp force Impeller change?

Any idea how to get the impeller off the drive shaft? There is a brass ring that doent seem to come off the top of the shaft. The drive shaft seems to pull out of the gear case. Do you just lift the shaft out?<br />this is a 50 hp Force ser#023874, mod #507X90D<br /><br />MANY THANKS!!!!!!!

there should be a seal on top, then a locating ring or centering ring. Both should slide off the driveshaft, could be corroded. Yes, the driveshaft pulls out of the gearcase on that model.
