Hi guys..........just joined the site..................hope you can help...........

At the top of the cylinder ram/rod that lifts the engine there is a pin.....How does it come out? It has threads in the center on the bigger flat end of the pin or shaft that connects the rod. Thanks................

Dunno... but in the meantime buy the factory service book,
best $50 you'll spend on the water.
www.outboardbooks.com
Theres 40+ pages dedicated to the T/T in mine (150hp).

You'll also get more response if you explain what you are doing and why.:)
And welcome aboard.

Thanks for the welcome!

Well was hoping someone here would help a little.........so I wouldn't have to buy a service manual.
I am wanting to remove the pin at the top of the cylinder ram/rod so I can remove the unit to clean, service, rebuild if needed. I have been mechanicing for over 30 years on just about everthing from A to Z but I am not sure about this pin on this outboard. I would rather put my pride in my pocket and ask before tearing something up.
When I joined here the site suggested that I keep wording, info, reasons, etc. to a minimum because the experts here already know I need help and what I need help with..............much the same way I help others on other forums.

Yeh but that pertains the the description TITLE, a lot of guys just type HEEELLP!! and it doesn't indicate what they need help with, the techs will not read mssgs which don't show what they contain in the title.

Your title description is good.

I have a 1993 40 dont know if they are the same. On the 40 put something under the lower unit to hold it up, Remove the keeper whether it be a wire or key and drive it out from the key side. May need to wiggle lower unit up and down. Not familar with threaded rod.

That pin on the top with the threads in has to be pulled out from that side after you remove the keeper from the port side. OMC made an adapter that you would attach a slide hammer to, insert in those threads and pop it out. If the mtr has been in salt water, get out the "blue wrench" cause it can be a bear. Did you get the bottom pin out ?
